The 100 -meter Olympic medalist and former world champion Fred Kerley was arrested by police and will not compete this weekend in the second Grand Slam Track test, held in Miami, as Friday reported the circuit created by Michael Johnson.
Kerley, copper medal in the 100 -meter final at the Olympic Games of Paris 2024 and silver at the same distance in Tokyo 2020, planned to compete at 100 meters on Saturday and 200 on Sunday. “Fred Kerley was arrested last night. The matter is under active investigation, and all consultations must be met in the Broward County Sheriff,” Grand Slam Track said in a statement. “Fred will not compete this weekend. We have no comments this time.”
The Broward County Sheriff’s Office did not immediately provide Kerley’s arrest, such as the athlete’s manager. But according to many US media, Kerley, 29, was accused of invading for a blow after a variety of hotel where Grand Slam athletes were placed.
