Olympic triumph for Van Aert in the sprint uphill in Lausanne

the Belgian Wout van Aert achieved his second victory here this Saturday Tour de Franceby winning the sprint uphill in Lausanne, next to the headquarters of International Olympic Committee.

The Jumbo cyclist was the fastest at the downhill finish, where he overtook the Australian Michael Matthews and in slovenian Tadej Pogacarwho added four bonus points and bolstered his yellow jersey as leader.

After three second places in the first three periods, Van Aert won Calais in a pure sprint and wore a yellow jersey for several days.

The day was marked by a breakaway of three men, Mattia Cattaneo, Frederik Frison and Fred Wright, who were the last survivors of the breakout.
