The new Grand Slam Track Meeting Circuit has decided to reduce the duration of the next competition in Philadelphia to two days instead of three, especially in suppressing two careers, organizers announced Thursday.
After two competitions in Kingston in April and Miami in early May, the Grand Slam track will move to Philadelphia on May 31 and June 1, which will be annuling on Friday, May 30 to ease its program on the weekend.
“We have always said that we want to listen to fans, athletes and coaches (…) we want to be the most ability to adapt, adjustable and centered on the league centered on sport fans, and we believe these changes will improve the experience of the Grand Slam track for all,” said his creator, Michael Johnson, an old man.
The Grand Slam Track offers twelve groups of eight athletes of two races, with a combined classification with a $ 100,000 prize for the winner, as part of the ambition of the competition to increase athletic media interest. The male and female “long distance” groups will now play a single race, 3,000 meters, for a reduced prize of $ 50,000.
The American Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, one of the signs of competition and double 400 meters fence, decided to be part of the “high fence” group in Philadelphia, so it would compete with a 100-meter fence and another 100 meters.
The final stage of the 2025 circuit was planned at the end of June in Los Angeles.
