According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus and Bayern disagreed on Monday for the transfer of the Dutch defender Matthijs de Ligt at the Munich club. Hasan Salihamidzic, Bayern’s sporting director, and Marco Neppe, technical director, traveled to Turin to oversee the negotiations, which did not bear fruit, but will continue.
Always according to said medium, Bayern offered a fixed 60 million euros and a 10 million bonus for De Ligt, proposal not accepted by Juventus. At the meeting, which took place at the headquarters of the ‘vecchia signora’, was also present Rafaela Pimenta, the defender’s agent, who wanted to leave the black and white team and already had an agreement with the Bavarian club.
The meeting marked the official opening of negotiations between Juventus and Bayern. Initially, Juventus recalled that De Ligt’s clause was 120 million euros and clarified to the German emissaries that he did not want the players to be included in the operation. Turinese want money to invest in transfers.
Salihamidzic said on leaving Turin: “We’re talking, I have nothing to say. Optimism? Always.” De Ligt’s (22 -year -old) contract with Juventus will end in 2024. The former Ajax captain signed for the Turin team in 2019, when Juventus paid the Amsterdam club 85.5 million for the player.
