The Junior Davis Cupalso known as Borotra Cupwill bring together U16 teams from Spain, France, Hungary, Andorra, Portugal, Turkey, Ukraine and Ireland at the Club Valencia Tennis Center, which will host this qualifying phase from July 26 to 29.
The competition features a knockout format with two singles matches and one doubles match and each team consists of three players and a coach. The winning team will qualify for the final of the tournament, which will take place in Paris.
On the Spanish side, the team consists of Valencians Carlos Cordobafrom CT Valencia, who was Spain’s recent champion in the cadet category, the Madrilenian Martin Landalucewho reached the junior Wimbledon semifinals in both singles and doubles, and the Murcian Raphael Mowed.
All the stars of world tennis have passed this tournament, mostly in the top 10, like Rafa Nadal, Carlos Alcaraz, Roger Federer or Novak Djokovic.
