American golfer JJ Spaun was declared champion of the Valero Texas Open this Sunday from San Antonio (Texas, USA).
This is the first win for Spaun on the PGA Tour.
Four golfers entered on Sunday tied for the lead: Americans JJ Spaun, Brandt Snedeker and Beau Hossler and South African Dylan Frittelli.
however, Spaun left his rivals on the final day to take the title of San Antonio.
Spaun finished the tournament with 275 shots (13 under par)two shots less than his immediate chasers, the Australian Matt Jones and the American Matt Kuchar, both with 277.
The champion delivered a 69-shot card on the final day and was stronger than the other co-leaders on Saturday (72 for Hossler, 73 for Frittelli and 75 for Snedeker).
