Francisco, calm even without signings

Date:

Elche’s coach, Francis Rodriguezconfirmed on Friday, at a press conference, that he is calm despite the fact that the club has not yet finalized the arrival of any signing, as he has proved that he has a good base since last year.

The Almeria coach, in his first appearance since the start of the preseason, considered, however, that the club had really strengthened after ensuring the continuation of players such as Omar Mascarell and the Argentine Ezequiel Ponce.

“The market is not easy for anyone. We have to wait. What is to come are important tweaks that are needed. There are some things in progress and I hope they are closed soon ”coach explained.

Francisco remembered Elche It has sports management and an owner who manages the market “perfectly”, so he insists he doesn’t have the anxiety he has experienced on other occasions.

As for the strengthening positions, the coach indicated that they were “the sides, some interior, pivot, a point and a midfielder or a winger”, to which he added “a goalkeeper”.

“We want versatile players that they are not from the same position and it will take us a little more time ”, said the coach, who admitted that he wanted his squad closed“ but that is impossible ”.

In this sense, he announced that the signings would need to be “quick” to adapt to the team’s work, so he slipped that some of the reinforcements would be players “that I know and have worked with.”

Francisco made sure of his purpose in this new season is to “continue to grow and have ambition” to continue to enjoy the “every day of the club and the city”.

“The goals should be the same: to be a strong team, who knows what it wants and have enough points to save the category”, argued the coach.

“We’re ambitious, but realistic and we know who we are and what it costs us. Hopefully we can match or exceed last year, but throwing bells quickly is deception to our people ”, he argued.

About tactical objectivesFrancis admitted that he wanted Elche “with more initiative in the game” and on the other field was “vertical”. “For that, we need brave players, with distance and coming to the spot”, commented the coach, who admitted he was working on “three and four defense” systems.

The man from Almería lamented the physical problems the Argentine was once again experiencing Javier Pastore since the start of the preseason and has not been granted the Festa d’Elx trophy celebration due to lack of dates and the stadium renovations.
