Fred Kerley impresses in 100m heats (9.79)

The American Fred Kerley confirmed his condition as the great favorite in the 100 meters of the world championships in Eugene by signing a record of 9.79 secondsthe best accredited in the tournament series.

A very fast game, on the edge of a wrong start (107 thousandths) led Kerley to dominate the second career from the shot and finished just three hundred of his best world record of the year.

The benefits of the Hayward Field track are seen again in the following series, in which his compatriot Trayvon Bromell, who was called up to dispute the gold medal, won with 9.89, eight hundred marks placing him second in the world rankings for the year.

Kenyan Ferdinand Omanyala, third on the world list of the year with 9.85, has finally overcome visa problems that was about to stop his participation in Eugene and just hours after arriving in Eugene he qualified for the semifinals thanks to his third place in the seventh and final series with a time of 10.10.

Botswana’s 19-year-old Letsile Tebogo broke the U-20 world record with a time of 9.94 which allowed him to beat veteran Jamaican Yohan Blake, world champion eleven years ago in Daegu (South Korea), by tenth.
