Real Madrid speeds up ‘exit operation’

Date:

The League and European champion, who has already said goodbye to Jovic, completes Kubo’s transfer to Real Sociedad and the next to say goodbye may be Reinier

After Carlo Ancelotti closed the transfer section with the arrival of German central defender Antonio Rüdiger and French midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni, Real Madrid’s efforts are focused on finding shelters for the players the Italian coach does not have. The Whites head to Los Angeles on Tuesday to compete in the Soccer Champions Tour and they want to do so without carrying more baggage than necessary. That is why the club, chaired by Florentino Pérez, has accelerated the ‘exit operation’.

The newly crowned League and European champions started on July 8 with the elimination of Serbian striker Luka Jovic, who was given a release letter to go to Fiorentina after his massive failure at Concha Espina. Real Madrid guaranteed 50% of a future Balkan sale to try to get back some of the €60m he paid to Eintracht Frankfurt in 2019 for his services. The direct benefit to the ‘white house’ from such a heterodox operation was the reduction in payroll of some 4.5 million net annual euros that the striker received, added to the 15 million that Bale received, the 7.5 million million from Marcelo and the 6 from Isco, who concluded their journey on June 30 with the fourteen-time monarch of the continent.

Next in line is Take Kubo, whose pass to Real Sociedad is only waiting in the margins. The Japanese had no place in Ancelotti’s roster as the squad of non-EU nationals was complete and his desire to be placed under the command of Imanol Alguacil will be satisfied after Real Madrid agreed to pay 50% of his transfer rights to the club ‘txuri -urdin’ to make all parties happy.

The San Sebastian entity wanted to own the Japanese, but in Chamartín they have not considered completely getting rid of a footballer who, despite not having exploded yet, has great marketing value for Asian fans. That is why an intermediate formula has been chosen. The former from Mallorca, Villarreal and Getafe will wear the blue and white shirt until 2027 in exchange for six million euros, but Real Madrid will retain a buy-back option and will pocket half of the money raised in a hypothetical future sale of the Japanese.

As Kubo’s farewell is consumed, Real Madrid are stepping up the placement of Reinier, whose non-EU status is also blocking the doors of Ancelotti’s team. The Brazilian midfielder was close to Benfica but negotiations failed to bear fruit as the Lisbon club maneuvered to secure a transfer in the future and closed the whites on the wing. Now Valladolid is best placed.

Aside from these forced outings, Real Madrid has hung up the transferable poster for Vallejo, Odriozola, Mariano and Borja Mayoral. The central hand wants to stay, despite being fifth in the ranking of centrals. The San Sebastian fullback once again enjoyed football at Fiorentina last season, but he has Carvajal, Lucas Vázquez and even Nacho, Ancelotti’s favorite wildcard, in front of him. As for strikers, Parla’s is the one who enjoys the greatest prestige within the board, but the Spanish-Dominican’s perpetual reluctance to leave Valdebebas makes the departure of the former Roma and Getafe more feasible. The azulón club is struggling to return the Colosseum, although Celta is also pushing hard.

The list of possible transfers is completed by Asensio and Ceballos. Two footballers entering the final year of their contract, with no renewal offer on the table, with a good line-up on the market and taking minutes to earn a place on Luis Enrique’s roster for the World Cup in Qatar. Something very difficult to achieve, the latter, at Real Madrid, given the ‘overbooking’ that exists in their respective positions.

The Balearic winger, who is followed by Milan and Arsenal, lost steam in the final stretch of last season due to the push of Rodrygo and Valverde. Added to this is the intended return to the front lines of Hazard, another candidate for the vacancy who dances in an attacking trident in which Vinicius and Benzema are untouchable.

The Utrera midfielder has also been reduced even more with the landing of Tchouaméni. While Ancelotti appreciates his quality and acknowledged last season that he gave him fewer minutes than he deserved, he is the seventh midfielder in the squad and it will be very difficult for him to break through. Ceballos would like to return to Betis, but at Heliópolis they currently have no salary margin to cope with the operation.

Asensio and Ceballos have the final say on their future and Real Madrid will respect their decision. If one of them leaves, they are relying in Chamartín on around 35 million euros for the Majorcan and they would not let the Andalusian escape for less than ten. With that money, the whites would consider going to the market, but there is somehow no urgency as with the departure of Kubo and Reinier there would be 25 chips left.
