Napoli beat Serie B side Perugia 4-1 in their second pre-season friendly while maintaining interest in Gerard Deulofeu, who for his part did not play in Udinese’s match against Slovenian side Ilirija Ljubljana. A disadvantage that does not respond to any physical contraction and, therefore, in Italy it is interpreted in market terms.
Negotiations are ongoing between Napoli and Udinese and, although they are not expected to end any time soon, they could speed up in the coming days. Deulofeu’s lack of friendship against Udinese is an indication in this sense.
The Osimhen-Kvaratskhelia duo
As for the Napoli friendly, Victor Osimhen and recently signed Georgian striker Khvicha Kvaratskhelia played together for the first time and showed a good rapport. In fact, Kvaratskhelia opened the scoring in the 5th minute of the game after help from the Nigerian.
In the 36th minute it was 2-0 after a corner taken by Mario Rui André Zambo Anguissa shot into the net from close range after his first shot was caught by a defender on the same line.
Petagna’s march could open Deulofeu’s door
In the second half Federico Melchiorri closed the gap on the scoreboard for Perugia (48 ‘), but Matteo Politano made it 3-1 shortly after some good individual action (53’). It was time for the discount, striker Andrea Petagna drove and earned a penalty in what could be his last game at Napoli. His departure will allow for the arrival of Deulofeu.
