Date:

The Los Angeles Olympics 2028 is held from July 14 to 30announced by the organizers on Monday.

For their part, the Paralympic Games will take place in the city of California from August 15 to 27.

This is the third time Los Angeles will host an Olympic event after the 1932 and 1984 editions.

Los Angeles 2028 will replace Paris, who will organize JJ.OO. in 2024.

The opening ceremony will have two venues: SoFi Stadium, which hosts the final edition of the NFL Super Bowl; and the LA Memorial Coliseum, a stadium already used by the same JJ.OO. in 1932 as in 1984.

“Los Angeles is a special place for sports,” Nicole Hoevertsz, vice president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), said in a statement collected by the Los Angeles Times.

“The confirmation of Olympic dates today gives Los Angeles a solid timeline when they need to be ready to meet the world,” he added.

The announcement of Los Angeles 2028 dates took place Monday at an event in the city of California in which Los Angeles mayor, Democrat Eric Garcetti, and IOC president Thomas Bach participated.
