Britain’s Jake Wightman won, surprising the favourite, Norwegian Olympic champion Jakob Ingebrigtsen, who finished second. Katir brought the Spanish midfielder back to the forefront of the showcase, after Reyes Esteve also won bronze in Seville in 1999.
