the slovenian Tadej Pogacar, second overall in the Tour de France, ensured he will fight to add to his fourth French round victory in Saturday’s time trial, although he admits he has spent a lot of energy.
“I have lived a very hard Tour and the time trial is difficult. I don’t know what I will be capable of, but I will give everything”, pointed out the UAE cyclist.
Pogacar indicated that he carried out a reconnaissance twice on the route tomorrow: “It is difficult and the surface does not allow much performance. But it will be a fast time trial, with two small elevations at the end. I will not expect there to be any big surprises, but you never know.”
Pogacar deemed the first part of this Friday’s episode “boring” and “more fun at the end”.
The Slovenian even tried to make an attack, but was directed away “It’s not serious I know I won’t be first”.
He assured that he does not feel the consequences of the fall he suffered during the descent of the harbor this Thursday: “The first two hours after the fall were painful, but then not. I think the wounds were not too deep and there were no affected muscles.”
