In Germany, a man has confessed to planning the kidnapping of German Health Minister Karl Lauterbach. Then there would be a political upheaval. The German and three other like-minded people have been detained since mid-April.
As the news magazine “Spiegel” reported, a doppelganger of the president, the chancellor or another prominent politician was supposed to appear. That and Lauterbach’s kidnapping should have caused a political upheaval. Under the plan, the population must also be cut off from media reports due to a power outage across Germany.
Terrorist group?
According to the suspect’s lawyer, dissatisfaction with politics and the corona measures played a role. The Karlsruhe authorities conducting the investigation consider the four men involved to be a terrorist organization. Three suspects are accused of preparing a serious subversive act of violence. Two Germans are said to have tried to participate in a crime. The federal prosecutor’s office is still investigating a fifth suspect, about whom it has not yet given any information.
Four alleged perpetrators have been detained since April. According to the investigating authorities, they come from Rhineland-Palatinate, Falkensee near Berlin, Bavaria and Lower Saxony. The man from the Berlin area has now confessed, the “Spiegel” reports.
