Scott Piercy shot a 5-under 66 on Saturday to set the tournament record through 54 holes and extend his lead to four shots in 3M Tomorrowa PGA Tour tournament held at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, Minnesota.
Piercy is at -18 with the final round remaining this Sunday after a 6 hour and 38 minute delay in competition due to weather factors. Piercy signed off with seven birdies and two bogeys in the third round.
Emiliano Grillo He carded a 67 to finish second at -14, four strokes behind the leader. Tony Finau and Doug Ghim they scored 65 and shared third place at -13. Tom Hoge (66) is six strokes back, in fifth place.
Piercy was 18 holes away from scoring his fifth career PGA Tour victory and first since 2015. He finished his round with seven birdies, including five straight holes 3-7, against two bogeys. He ended his round with a bogey on the par-5 18th.
“I feel great,” Piercy said. “Obviously I want to finish the last hole a little bit better. My goal, when I have a good start, is to get to 21st and keep the pedal flat and just try to go,” the leader explained after his lap
