The ‘Flying Dutchman’ in Times Square

On the second day of The Barcelona stay in New York, Times Square once again witnessed a ‘premiére’ of advertising for the Barcelona club: in one of the main screens giant of the emblematic square, an NFT image was displayed with a picture of Johan Cruyff’s goal against Atlético in 1973, an image that earned him the nickname ‘Flying Dutchman’. The NFT is going up for auction today at Sotheby’s and has been advertised in Times Square.

In emotional opening moment Joan Laporta attended the billboard, as well as Jordi Cruyff, the sports vice president, Rafa Yuste, and first team players Sergio Busquets, squad captain, and Pedri.

The image read the message “In a Way, Immortal. Live auction in New York,” including the club crestthe date of the event and the logo of the historic auction house.

the piece, high-end and titled ‘In a Way, Immortal’ –inspired by a quote from Johan Cruyff– is a Club production in collaboration with BCN Visuals, partner in strategic change and Superestudi Digital, which developed cinematographic aesthetics.
