Newcastle have decided to reward Eddie Howe, the manager who was rescued last season after a good second round, with a new long-term contract.
The British coach still has two years left on his contract, having signed it when he arrived in November. Under him, Newcastle went from penultimate position to eleventh and that, added to the great support they had from players and fans, led the Saudi owners to make the decision this.
“It’s a great feeling to commit my future to this incredible club,” said Howe, adding: “I’m very proud to be Newcastle head coach and have enjoyed every moment here.”
In addition, the British manager would like to highlight and recognize “my team of managers, players, staff and supporters. They make this a very special place to be every day. I would also like to extend my thanks to our owner and Dan Ashworth. We’re at the start of our journey, but it’s an exciting time to be part of Newcastle and I’m really looking forward to our future together.”
