A Russian runner died on Monday after running the famous Europe-Asia marathon in the city of Yekaterinburg the day before.capital of the Urals located between two continents, according to local media reports.

He added that he received a receipt on August 2 certifying that he is healthy enough to participate in the famous marathon, which also includes distances of 21.1 and 42.2 kilometers, as well as 800 meters and three kilometers.
“All participants receive a safe conduct to run only after presenting a medical certificate. The doctors deemed him healthy and able to participate in the marathon,” said Utkin.
The friends of the deceased decided to raise money to pay for the funeral and help the widow and their four-year-old son together.
According to the press, five other runners had to be hospitalized and 40 were treated by medical services out of a total of over five thousand participants.
