Women’s clubs can only register two non-EU women

Date:

The conflict is opened by limiting players who are not community to the new women’s professional league there is a new chapter. And part of the circular sent yesterday Monday by the RFEF, in which it informs clubs playing in European competitions that they will only be able to register two non-EU players, something that affects FC Barcelona, Real Sociedad and Real Madrid, who next week play in the preliminary phase.

In the federative letter, it argues that “it is necessary to implement coordination in the context of the legal framework applicable to official international competitions” to continue arguing that “it is necessary to implement a transitory average while the mechanisms established for in the law there is an unstated current state for the RFEF’s issuance of non-community foreign licenses”.

Thus, and according to the RFEF, “the term to register and obtain a federative license of up to a maximum of two non-EU foreign players has been temporarily opened for teams playing in official international competitions.”

This decision, even because of its temporary nature, especially affects Real Madrid, which must register its players in view of the qualification of the Women’s Champions League against Sturm Graz on August 18.

In Spain the conflict is in the hands of the CSD

A conflict that, as we tell you in Mundo Deportivo, is in the hands of CSD. More after the meeting on July 22 which was attended by all those affected except the RFEF and the FUTPRO union. Therefore, the League left it in the hands of the CSD, as established by the current regulations.

As we explained from the League, it defends some 12 non-community licenses that will be gradually reduced in the coming seasons but that is the only way to adapt coming from this scenario where there is no limit to the non-professional league.

It has nothing to do with what they think from a union like AFE where, as we have already mentioned, they bet on the three that exist in men’s soccer, understanding that it favors the nationals and benefits the various nationals team.

At this point, this problem needs to be resolved by the CSD as stated in the Royal Decree of Sports Federations. It clarifies that “The determination of the number of non-EU foreign players authorized to participate in official professional events or competitions at the state level will be carried out by common agreement between the Spanish Sports Federation, the professional league and of the respective association. of professional athletes.” In case of disagreement, the CSD will establish “by resolution, the number of foreign non-EU players who may participate in the competitions of professional leagues.”

And as it was resolved, less than a month after the start of the League, the RFEF agrees to this temporary proposal.
