It’s official. Timo Werner is back to be a RB Leipzig player. The 26-year-old German striker has completed his signing and is now sealed signature on a new contract that will join the club of the red bulls for four seasons until 2026.
So Werner cleared the path made in 2020, when Chelsea paid 53 million euros for his signing. Two years later, and after failing to adapt to English football, the German returned to Leipzig for a price of around 20 ‘kilo’.
Werner has played for RB Leipzig from 2016 to 2020 and scored a total of 95 goals in 159 official matches, which the leading scorer in the history of the German club.
With Chelsea he was able to lift a Champions Leaguea European Super Cup and a Club World Cupalthough its performance expectations were not met.
