Raheem Sterling no beating around the bush when it comes to explain your reasons for leaving the City this summer The 27-year-old English striker closed his signing for Chelsea for 53 million euros after seven seasons at the ‘citizen’ club.
A few weeks after joining, the winger threw a dart at City commented on why he decided to perform the exit door.
“The transfer happened, like anything you try to achieve as a person, and I felt that my time at City was limited in terms of playing time for various reasons,” began Sterling.
“I can’t waste that time. So I have to keep the same level and a new challenge. It’s something I’ve been a regular starter since I was 17, so reached a high point in my career and irregular playing is something I will not accept“, he explained.
“My character is to try to fight back and change the landscape, but it didn’t happen and that’s it. It’s the option tailored to my personal goals, and also to my family and the direction the club is taking.”
Sterling examines Chelsea’s possibilities and his choice for the ‘blue’ team. “It’s a competitive team and it’s only going to get better. With new ownership, too, it had many meanings. Of course, my time at City was difficult and there were many important memories and moments.”
