Joan Francesc Ferrer, ‘Rubi’, The Almería coach admitted, at the end of the fast-paced rivalry against Real Madrid that he felt proud of the team’s performance but regretted leaving empty-handed. Happy with the picture but disappointed with the result.
“We have made a spectacular effort, the players gave everything. By the numbers, Madrid deserved the victory, but in my opinion for the game we play we deserve better”, he said at the end of the duel.
The Catalan coach congratulated himself on putting Madrid on the ropes, a team that had to overcome an early domestic goal and was losing for almost an hour: “We brought one of the best teams in the world in an intense situation. And the no player on the call is me, not Madrid. I am clear that it was the match that I had to play today”, he emphasized.
