On the 60th anniversary of this historic model, Ducati celebrates it with an exhibition “Scrambler 60th” and 60 exclusive limited edition Carrera Eyewear glasses.
The exclusive and iconic Scrambler model has just turned 60 and within this popular retro style motorcycle, the Italian firm Ducati has sold just 100,000 units worldwide since it began marketing seven years ago.
The Ducati Scrambler project, with the idea and parts of this type of motorcycle from the 60s, is aimed at the passions of this type of motorcyclist who is not looking for something mechanical, but rather a passion for this type of vehicle.
Historically, production began at the request of the Berliner brothers, Ducati importers for the United States in the 1960s. They needed a model to suit the tastes of American bikers. For this reason, the production of the first Ducati Scrambler started in 1962 until 1975. The success was enormous, this project became a reality thanks to the technique of the vehicle, the style that emanated from the components. The Scrambler provided rebellious and maverick spirits for its users.
The Italian brand started with different versions of the same truly spectacular model. The first Scrambler Ducati Icon had Urban Enduro, Full Throttle, Street Classic and Classic versions and later the range was completed with the Mach 2.0, in an Italia Independent limited edition, the Flat Track PRO, the Café Racer, the Desert Sled, the Sixty2 and the Icon Dark. To complete the family, Land of Joy offers a more contemporary 1100 Tribute PRO, Urban Motard and Nightshift. To celebrate this anniversary, Ducati has teamed up with Carrera Eyewear, Ducati Corse’s current official partner for the Eyewear Collection, to create iconic sunglasses for the occasion in a limited edition of just 60 pieces.
The style of the sunglasses reflects the Carrera aesthetic with Land of Joy branding details such as the Scrambler Ducati logo on the right lens and finished in the classic “62Yellow” colour. The double bridge bears the signature of Scrambler Ducati and the logo honoring the 60th anniversary of the brand is on the right temple. All this with exclusive packaging personalized with the signature Scrambler Ducati characters present on the lenses.
The limited edition model will be available exclusively in the Carrera online store in Europe and the United States from October 1, as well as in the Ducati online store in Europe.
