Thirty years after production has ended, Renault will present a modern interpretation of its iconic Renault 4 at the 2022 Paris Motor Show.
The design team led by
Gilles VidalDesign Director of Renault, has reinterpreted with modernity an emblematic model from the 60s, 70s and 80s. The show car will also appeal to younger generations by celebrating the 25th anniversary of the 4L Trophy solidarity attack.
The original Renault 4 was produced between 1961 and 1994. The flat floor, the folding rear seats and the fifth door made it an ingenious and versatile vehicle.
The model offered extraordinary stability. Elimination of lubrication points and their
closed water circuit facilitate their maintenance. Building on its worldwide success, the well-known “four cans” were affordable and versatile, meeting the needs of the time.
Despite its compact dimensions (3.63 m long, 1.43 m wide and 1.47 m high), it was quite a spacious car, thanks in part to the rear-mounted engine, which
