QJ Motor: new motorcycle brand for Spain and Portugal

Date:

Via the Spanish importer Motos Bordoy, the new brand QJMotor begins to market seven models in three very different segments.

The Motos Bordoy importer for Spain and Portugal has just added a new brand to its name. It is the Chinese company QJMOTOR, owned by the Geely Group, which in turn owns important companies such as:
volvo, Polestar, Smart, Proton or Lotus and is the largest shareholder of Mercedes Benz. This new brand has just started marketing seven models, currently in three of the main segments of the motorcycle sector, Adventure, Custom and civic driving and, soon, combustion engine or electrically powered scooters.

This new brand is part of the largest manufacturer of motorcycles, engines and other components in this particular sector, Qianjiang Motorcycle, which has been building this type of vehicle for more than 40 years in China, which in turn is also owned by the Geely Group.

The range with which the marketing of this new brand begins is quite complete to grow with more models this year and the next.
From 125 to 800 cubic centimeters are the displacements that make up this first insertion. All models presented except the expected 125 have two-cylinder engines.

The flagship model is the SRT model, in two versions, the 800X for off-road use and the 800 for on-road use only. Both Trail segments differ in their suspension, each adapted to the environment for which they are made and the first with spoked rims and the second with aluminum alloy rims. Technically, they offer a two-cylinder engine with a displacement of 754 cubic centimeters, electronic fuel injection, a power of 76 hp and a weight between 254 and 260 kilograms, depending on the version, in running order.

They meet the anti-pollution regulations
EURO5 and the brakes, with double discs at the front and single at the rear, have ABS anti-lock brakes. The transmission is with a chain and the gearbox is six speed. The instrument panel is fully digital by means of a five-inch TFT screen. Both are available in
limited versions 35 kilowatts adapted to drivers with driving license A2. Prices starting from
€9,899 of the asphalt version.

In the same Trail segment, a smaller displacement, called the SRT550, is available for specific on-road use. It has a liquid-cooled engine, also a two-cylinder with a displacement of 554 cubic centimeters and 47 hp. With six gears in the gearbox and a chain transmission, it displaces 235 kilograms. Braking is entrusted to dual front and single rear discs with the ABS anti-lock braking system included in the final price of
€6,499.

For city driving and on the edge of the same three, Naked with different displacement offers this new brand. The SRK700 of 698 cubic centimeters in the two-cylinder propeller, 72 hp, electronic fuel injection and an empty weight of 196 kilograms. A limited version is available for users with driving license A2. The price of this Naked is
6.999 euros. And both the front inverted telescopic fork suspension with monoshock damper on the rear axle, as well as the dual disc front and single disc brakes, also feature anti-lock ABS brakes, which are highly reliable.

The SRV550 with the same price as the SRT and also with the same propeller has the same components and a similar appearance with a weight to be moved of 206 kilograms.

The SRK400 also has a twin-cylinder engine with a displacement of 400 cubic centimeters, 41 horsepower, an oil-bathed multi-disc clutch with dual disc brakes at the front and single at the rear, as well as anti-lock brakes, ABS and all this at the end of the price
5,699 euros. The three Naked have very careful finishes and very striking physionomies.

Finally, and for now until future models, two medium-displacement customs complete this first appearance of QJMotor in Spain. These are the SRV300 and the expected SRV125. The first, with a two-cylinder engine and a displacement of 296 cubic centimeters, and the second with a single-cylinder engine and a displacement of 125 cubic centimeters, offer outputs of 30 and 14 hp respectively. The prices are currently only the first known,
€4,999 while the final price for the smallest has not yet been specified.

The goals of this new brand for the next five years are to complete the full range by 2025 and two years later to sell 10,000 units in Spain to achieve a market share of 5%.

An important contribution of this brand is bringing the
full warranty from mandatory three years to six, transferable if owner changes. This brand shares platforms and engines with the legendary Benelli brand, also owned by Qianjiang Motorcycle.
