Many diabetics currently have to wait a long time for their usual drug SemGlee. The reason is that Bottlenecks delivery to the manufacturer.
“I am a diabetes myself and I am also affected,” writes Rudolph K. (name changed by the editorial team). “How is it possible that the audience does not experience anything?” He asked the ombudsist indignantly, because “the medicine is vital for many diabetes.”
SemGlee helps to stabilize blood sugar levels
SemGlee is a syringe with insulin that lowers or compensates blood sugar levels. Because the resources are effective for a long time, you only have to manage it once a day. It is very similar to the body’s insulin and therefore helps diabetics to control their blood sugar levels.
There are delivery bottlenecks everywhere
Delivery bottlenecks are currently a worldwide problem – Austria is also being hit. The Federal Office of Healthcare (BASG) also leads a publicly accessible list for medication with sales problems.
So far no major damage
The Austrian Agency for Health and Food Safety, or in short, ensures on its website that so far no patient and not a patient “has been damaged by the bottlenecks of medicines.”
SemGlee actually “not available”
We have asked the Ministry of Health to comment on SemGlee. According to the Ministry, the SemGlee 100 -Units/ML injection solution is stated in a prepared pen as “not available” in the sales -limited limited registration register of the BASG due to “increased extra needs”. The date of resuscitation would have been on July 1: “Since this date has already passed, the access owner was asked by the federal office for updating.”
There are alternatives
However, the Ministry of Health wants to calm down and explains that alternative preparations have been approved in Austria with the same active ingredient and the same dose as Semerglee. Patients must talk to their doctor about possible replacement preparations.
