Refreshing colors and packages with harmonious contrasts characterize the new sports cars from Porsche: Style Edition 718 Boxster and Cayman
Mid-engine models have always represented the perfect combination of driving pleasure and practicality in everyday life. With the Style Edition series, Porsche is now presenting an exclusive variant for customers who attach particular importance to a distinctive design for their vehicle. An example of this is the Ruby Star Neo exterior color, a modern interpretation of the Ruby Star found on the legendary 964 generation Porsche 911 Carrera RS.
Although the new Style Edition versions are painted a different color than Ruby Star Neo, they are easily recognizable. They stand out, for example, because of the glossy black 20-inch 718 Spyder wheels with hubcaps with the colored Porsche emblem. The Style Edition series is also distinguished by black sports tailpipes and the shiny silver Porsche wordmark on the rear. On the 718 Boxster Style Edition, the Boxster lettering is embossed above the side windows as an exclusive emblem on the hood.
Customers can choose between two 718 Style Edition contrast packs: one in black and one in white at no additional cost. Both feature decorative stripes on the hood and the Porsche wordmark on the sides, as well as black or white high-gloss paint finishes for the wheels, as well as the model name on the rear. Inside, the Style Edition series cars feature a black leather package with contrasting chalk stitching, stainless steel illuminated door sill panels and the Porsche Crest on the headrests.
The powertrain and chassis are identical on the two Style Edition models. Both are based on the base versions of the 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman with the 300 hp (220 kW) 2.0-litre boxer engine behind the seats. The turbocharged four-cylinder engine generates maximum torque of 380 Nm and with the standard six-speed manual transmission, the 718 Style Edition can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds (with PDK seven-speed option: 4.7 seconds). Regardless of the transmission selected, both reach a top speed of 275 km/h.
