The new BMW R 1250 RS is now more innovative and refined

In combination with the boxer engine, the legendary BMW Motorrad abbreviation “RS” in the sport touring world is synonymous with sporty and dynamic driving pleasure on country roads and at the same time superior comfort on long journeys. The BMW RS has always been a master of sporty driving, leaning into corners and on long-distance journeys for two with holiday luggage. To ensure that this continues in the future, BMW Motorrad has given the new R 1250 RS a number of new standard features and optional extras to make sporty driving even more dynamic and relaxed.
As before, the legendary 2-cylinder boxer engine provides powerful propulsion. It still has a displacement of 1,254 cm3 and, even in the current EU5 registration, delivers 100 kW (136 hp). Thanks to the BMW ShiftCam technology for varying the timing and height of the intake side valves, it offers high power throughout the rev range, an extremely smooth and quiet ride and excellent fuel economy and emission values.
In this case, the standard DTC Automatic Stability Control ensures a high level of driving safety thanks to excellent traction. The new standard ECO driving mode helps the driver to travel with the highest possible fuel consumption.
The ECO riding mode allows the rider to use the innovative BMW Motorrad ShiftCam engine technology primarily to achieve maximum range. In addition, the driver is encouraged to drive as efficiently as possible with a smooth throttle curve and moderate torque limit. Likewise, the TFT color display provides an indication of efficiency in the top status line. If you want maximum performance, for example when overtaking with a heavy load or driving uphill, you can quickly and easily switch to another driving mode with the driving mode button.
As a popular sports touring car, the R 1250 RS in its latest edition is equipped as standard with BMW Integral ABS Pro, a braking system that offers even more safety when braking, even when leaning into corners. As the concept of driving modes continues to expand, more new features will also be added.
