innovation from rail to road.

This is how the first fully electric racing car in Maserati’s history was born with the aim of achieving a modern and pure look, in terms of decoration. Maserati’s trident is displayed naturally and prominently on the nose side, while the Maserati Corse logo and Italian tricolor sit on either side of the front of the chassis.

The first racing car to bear the Trident logo was the Type 26, which debuted in the 1926 Targa Florio and finished first in its class with Alfieri Maserati at the wheel. Now, 96 years later, the Maserati Tipo Folgore, which boldly portrays the trident, enters the era of electrification, accelerating Maserati’s commitment to Folgore, the brand’s new 100% electric range.

The Gen3 will be the fastest and most efficient Formula E car to date, with front and rear powertrains delivering 600kW of regenerative power and 95% energy efficiency, ensuring that more than 40% of the energy used in a stroke is exclusively comes from regenerative braking. The track experience, technology and software used in Formula E are an important part of this competition and the insights gained will be transferred to Maserati’s high-end road cars with the forthcoming introduction of the Folgore range.

After passing through Valencia (Spain), the Maserati Tipo Folgore is preparing to head to the Hermanos Rodríguez Autodrome circuit in Mexico City, where it will debut on January 14, 2023 to start the 19-race calendar and to begin a season that opens a new era of electric racing.
