Motorcycles, the most important market, registered a growth of 6.3% in 2022. Registrations of tricycles, microcars and ATV/Quads also showed positive figures, with increases of 9.1%, 5.5% and 2.4% respectively %. At the other end of the scale are mopeds, which ended the year with an 11.5% decline.
Jose Maria Riano, Secretary General of Anesdor, explained that “for the sector, these data are very positive. But we can’t forget the huge effort companies have made throughout the year to overcome setbacks without raising prices.”
“The truth is that more and more citizens are demanding light vehicles, such as motorcycles, tricycles or microcars. The trend of recent years is clearly visible, both in vehicles aimed at urban mobility and in vehicles for leisure and tourism. Electrification continues and the penetration rate of the electric vehicle remains the highest at 8.5%,” says Riaño.
