Despite customers increasingly seeking more sustainable modes of transport, there are still concerns about the operation of the electric vehicle, many of which are untrue. Lease and fleet management company ALD Automotive has compiled a list that debunks six of the main myths about the electric vehicle.

They will always have a higher price than any other type of propulsion: this is not true, as electric vehicles gradually reach similar prices to internal combustion engine cars. Both for rent and purchase of real estate.

They have little autonomy: the autonomy of electric cars is usually between 200 and 500 kilometers, so it is possible to make long journeys.

Placing a charging station is complex and involves many procedures: nothing could be further from the truth. Today, many companies even offer the option of installation when purchasing an electric vehicle.

When switching on the heating or air conditioning, a large energy consumption is made: it depends on the type of technology that the vehicle contains, with resistance the consumption will be higher and if the vehicle has heat pumps it will be lower .

Vehicle charging is very slow: this is not the case, as there are currently fast charging points that can charge 80% of the battery in about 30 minutes.

Maintenance is very expensive: electric vehicles have fewer mechanical parts, which reduces the chance of a breakdown. As for lubricants and fluids, only the brake and windshield fluids need to be changed.
