The new Hyundai IONIQ 6 and KONA reinforce Hyundai’s leading position in the electrified vehicle segment

Hyundai is launching the new IONIQ 6 this year with exclusive exterior and interior design elements, a sportier look and a very spacious interior. In addition, it offers an extended range of up to 614 kilometers on a single charge, redefining the current boundaries of electric mobility. This range is supported by a very low drag coefficient of just 0.21 CX, thanks to the low front body height, active front air flaps and space reducers on the fenders. The IONIQ 6 takes advantage of the new body to offer the widest wheelbase in its segment at 2.95 meters to provide more amenity to passengers. The IONIQ 6 luxury sedan each has two 12.3-inch information screens and is the first Hyundai model to offer over-the-air updates to navigation maps, multimedia system software or driver assistance features.

The exclusive IONIQ 6 First Edition takes the elegant look of the South Korean brand’s 4.86-metre electric luxury sedan to the next level, with exclusive exterior and interior design elements. On the outside, the model’s 20-inch diameter wheels have a striking matte black finish. Meanwhile gloss black trims on the front, rear and sides as well as gloss black mirror caps. The new IONIQ 6 First Edition gets four-wheel drive and a long-lasting battery of 77.4 kWh, with an output of 325 hp. In addition, customers can subscribe to the IONITY Premium package free of charge for one year through Hyundai’s integrated pan-European public charging service my Hyundai Charge, which provides access to more than 400,000 charging points across Europe, including power connections. DC and alternating current. Later there will also be a version of the IONIQ 6 with a 53.0 kWh battery and rear-wheel drive.

Hyundai has announced that its IONIQ 6 Electrified Streamliner will provide 614 kilometers of all-electric range per charge. The 53 kWh small battery version registers an energy consumption of 13.9 kWh/100 kilometers, making it one of the most economical EVs on the market. The result is optimal electrical performance with ultra-fast 800V charging that enables a range of up to 350 km in just 15 minutes, or from 10 to 80% in approximately 18 minutes, and supports 400V charging without the need for components or additional adapters .

The aerodynamic appearance of the IONIQ 6 and several design elements such as the active air deflector, the integrated rear spoiler and the reduced wheel arches have significantly improved the aerodynamic performance of the model, making it one of the most efficient vehicles on the market. In particular, the reduced wheel arches minimize the empty space between the front bumper and tires to improve aerodynamic performance around the wheel arches. Applied for the first time on a Hyundai model, this enables the IONIQ 6 Electrified Streamliner to improve passenger ride comfort while overcoming the aerodynamic challenges posed by the short front overhang.

For the new generation of its most iconic city car, Hyundai will offer four variants of the new KONA compact SUV from September, including 100% electric EV versions, a HEV electric hybrid, ICE petrol and the sporty N Line, which they will share the same identity, but each with a unique style. The new KONA now not only offers a more dynamic road presence, but also a driver-oriented interior with more living space and a truly futuristic dashboard design with two side-by-side 12.3-inch displays. With the automatic selector lever behind the steering wheel, it offers a clean layout and extra storage space in the central module.

The new KONA has evolved into a noticeably larger SUV (very close to its “big brother” Tucson), to provide maximum living space. The new model has grown to 4.35 meters in length, 15 centimeters more than the previous generation. It is also 25mm wider and 60mm wheelbase compared to the outgoing model. Among the propulsion variants there are different styling variants. The electric EV features pixel graphic accents on the front grille and rear bumper, a pixel-inspired 19-inch diameter alloy wheel design, black beltline, and optional black roof and side mirrors. The ICE petrol and HEV petrol hybrid models share a robust design of the bumper and skid plate, as well as the black trim of the wheel arches. The sporty KONA N Line model features optional black roof and side mirrors, wing-shaped spoiler, more aggressive front and rear designs with wing-shaped bumpers to accentuate a lower stance, signature 19-inch alloy wheels, dual exhaust and silver-colored side panels skirt .
