Home sales total 32,040 units, down 21% from pre-pandemic January
The car market is showing signs of recovery in the first month of the year
growth compared to January 2022 51%, but still 25% below the numbers recorded before the pandemic. The total sales figure for January is 64,147 units in January.
This strong increase is partly due to
units sold in December and that they were registered in the first month since the previous year’s market volume was at a very low level due to the microchip crisis and transportation bottlenecks.
According to figures from the associations of manufacturers (Anfac), dealers (Faconauto) and sellers (Ganvam), all channels register increases compared to the previous year.
For example, sales to individuals stand at 32,040 registered units, up 48.6% but down 21% compared to pre-pandemic January.
The market for companies with 27,962 sales is up 45.6% over the previous year, but
with a decrease of 14.7% compared to 2019. For their part, car rental sales, following the strong decline last year, have managed to grow by 157.5% with 4,145 registrations, but with a decrease of 68.4% compared to January 2019 data.
The registrations of
light commercial vehicles There were 9,357 units in the first month of the year, an increase of 34.8% over last year. In terms of sales by channel, only those aimed at the self-employed saw a decrease of -4.4%, while registrations for companies and renters increased by 52% and 20.2% respectively.
For the first month of 2023registrations of industrial vehicles, buses, coaches and minibuses achieved an increase of 20.9%, with a total of 2,764 units, maintaining the positive pace with which it ended last year.
The average CO2 emissions of passenger cars sold in January remain at 118.3 grams of CO2 per kilometer traveled,
0.13% lower than the average emissions of new passenger cars sold in the same month of 2022.
