Bentley Flying Spur Hybrid: performance without compromise

Date:

The new model, with a combined power output of 536 PS, delivered by a 2.9-litre V6 petrol engine and an advanced electric motor, is now available to order in the UK and Europe.

The new Flying Spur Hybrid, the second electrified grand tourer in the Bentley model range, has been certified as the most efficient and fuel-efficient Bentley to date. Indeed, it is bringing to market a range of Bentley hybrids for the first time, highlighting Bentley’s commitment to becoming an end-to-end carbon neutral brand and the world’s leading sustainable luxury mobility company.

It is now available to order in the UK and Europe, with other markets to follow shortly. The new powertrain combines a 2.9-litre V6 petrol engine with an advanced electric motor, producing a total of 536 hp.

With high power reserves, superior torque and fast throttle response, the latest hybrid model delivers little on the Flying Spur V8 under acceleration, from standstill to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds (0-100 km/h in 4.3 seconds) . The new powertrain significantly reduces fuel consumption while delivering the authentic Bentley character of effortlessly refined performance.

The electric motor is powered by an 18.0 kWh (usable) lithium-ion battery and can be charged to 100% in just two and a half hours (region-specific). Power electronics convert the energy stored in the high-voltage battery to power the electric motor or to supplement the vehicle’s existing 12V electrical infrastructure.

The Flying Spur’s interior showcases Bentley’s expertise in creating a modern cabin of unparalleled luxury and innovation. Using the extensive specification offering, customers can choose from a selection of fifteen leather colors (five standard and ten optional) and eight different coatings to create an individual specification. Stitching and decals can also be specified in blind or contrast colours, as well as the option of contrast piping on the seat fabric, reminiscent of the original Flying Spur from the 1950s.

Building on the company’s heritage, Bentley’s craftsmanship also continues to evolve, with contemporary features such as 3D leather door panels and raised diamond stitching on the seats (incorporated into Mulliner’s handling characteristics).
