The latest Audi RS 3 Sportback models and the second generation of the RS 3 Sedan take performance and dynamics to the next level, thanks to the 2.5-litre TFSI five-cylinder turbo petrol engine and the innovative Torque Splitter system, installed for the first times in an Audi. Different driving modes are also available and can be selected via the Audi Drive Select dynamic driving system, which offers the profiles “comfort”, “auto”, “dynamic”, “RS Individual” and “efficiency”. The standard RS sports suspension features newly developed dampers that respond faster and more effectively to all driving conditions. The RS plus sports suspension with adaptive damping control is optionally available. The specific progressive control varies the ratio depending on the angle of rotation. The newly developed braking system includes steel discs with six-piston callipers to match the power of the five-cylinder engine. A powerful ceramic braking system is also available as an option.
The RS 3 demonstrates its sporty DNA with a body that stands out with its flared wheel arches, grille with signature honeycomb grille, large front air intakes, wedge-shaped LED headlights, rear diffuser and 19-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels. Kyalami Green and Kemora Gray are two new body colors exclusive to these models. In addition, the roof of the Sedan model can be ordered in the contrasting color glossy black. Side sill inserts, door mirror caps and spoiler are available in carbon fiber reinforced polymer. Optionally, Matrix LED headlights with darkened edges can be installed, providing an unmistakable look: their placement allows a checkered flag or RS 3 letters to be displayed dynamically.
The true race car look of the RS 3 bodywork continues in the passenger compartment, with a dashboard with carbon fiber inserts and sports seats with RS logos. The Audi virtual cockpit plus digital instrumentation presents RS-specific gauges and graphs on a high-resolution 31 cm (12.3-inch) screen, such as G-forces, upshift timing, oil temperature, engine coolant, engine and transmission, tire pressure, accelerometer and stopwatch . RPMs are shown as a bar graph and horsepower and torque are shown as percentages. The three-spoke RS Sport multifunction leather steering wheel with flattened bottom integrates gearshift paddles made of zinc. Optionally, a round RS steering wheel with capacitive grip recognition can be fitted.
