Workers at IVECO plant in Madrid get recycling rewards

Date:

They will be able to recycle their drink cans and plastic drink bottles in one of the three machines installed in the RECICLOS complex, facilitating the circularity of this waste, i.e. after recycling it becomes new packaging or products.

Employees at the IVECO factory in Madrid will earn a reward every time they recycle their plastic drink cans and bottles. This is possible thanks to the company’s dedication to RECICLOS, the Return and Reward System (SDR) developed by Ecoembes, the non-profit environmental organization coordinating packaging recycling in Spain.

In this way, the more than 2,800 people who work in the IVECO factory,
only industrial vehicle factory in Spainas well as those who visit it can recycle their beverage cans and plastic beverage bottles in one of the three machines installed in the complex, facilitating the circularity of this waste, that is, it becomes new containers or products after recycling.

“Emission-free road transport has become one of IVECO’s key objectives, along with decarbonisation and reduction of its carbon footprint. However, a sustainable product must be produced and manufactured in a sustainable process, including the entire value chain, which is why we are always looking for new ways to improve and care for the environment from our factory,” he says.
Raul Ayusodirector of the IVECO factory in Madrid.

The industrial vehicle factory in Madrid is a clear example of the brand’s commitment, whose target to reduce direct CO2 emissions by 2030 compared to 2019 is 50%. This plant not only consumes 100% of its electricity from renewable sources, but also almost 100% of the non-hazardous production waste is recycled and 100% of the water is reused at least once. IVECO is also committed to the circular economy; Due to the manufacturing process of industrial vehicles, paints and solvents are the most commonly used chemical products, so their use has been optimized by improving facilities and processes. In this way 100% of the solvent with recovery potential is reused.
