A video shot in the middle of Vienna’s third district is currently causing a stir: The clip leaked to krone.at apparently shows a food vendor in the Landstrasse district. So far good. But instead of taking the orders out of the car and packing them, a witness watched the man fish and fill the food from the kitchen into the trunk.
“If the health service sees that – that would be an honor for me,” said the reader-reporter of “Krone”, who filmed the scenes in Weyrgasse from his car with his smartphone, shocked. A red Opel with Viennese number plates was parked right in front of his car and the incredible scenes played out under the tailgate.
“Creepy” and “Grindy”
The driver of the car works there with a shovel and ladle and fills some liquid food in plastic containers, which he then stores in a warming bag. The kitchen utensils are loose in the trunk. You also see pots and larger boxes from which the man decants the dishes.
“I’ve never seen anything like this in my life, that you take the food out of the pans like that,” says one of the spectators at the scenes. The photos do not show which form of delivery service or which restaurant it is. In any case, the witnesses describe the ins and outs as “creepy” and “grinding”.
