Despite the rainfall in the night from Wednesday to Thursday, a forest fire broke out in the morning hours on Dornbirn’s home mountain, the Karren (976 meters). In addition to 60 emergency services on the ground, the police helicopter “Libelle” was also deployed to extinguish it.
The forest fire on the Karren broke out in the early morning hours on the north side of the hiking trail. The fire was quickly extinguished in the vicinity of the path. Under the fire in the area of the rock face were still active embers.
These were fought from the air with the support of the police helicopter and eventually successfully extinguished. Fortunately there were no injuries. In total, nearly 60 emergency services were on the scene. In addition to the Dornbirn and Hohenems fire brigades, the mountain rescue and police also helped with the extinguishing work.
