“AMS gross negligence” – lack of drivers: school buses are in danger of breaking down

Date:

Due to the dire lack of drivers in Vienna, school buses could be cancelled. The AMS has therefore been criticized.

Nurses, waiters, kindergarten teachers, teachers – and now bus drivers. “We are currently missing about 25 drivers in our company,” says Sabine Zuklin-Pollany, General Manager of the motorcycle transport company ZuklinBus. The company with 151 employees and 112 vehicles was founded in 1925. But the lack of steering wheel, which has existed for years, causes problems for the company.

Massive failures threaten
“Our regular service in the southern part of Vienna is already threatened by disruptions,” says Zuklin-Pollany. The entrepreneur also sees the AMS as responsible. “We haven’t had a single driver for years,” she criticizes.

AMS gross negligence?
And: Even work permits for drivers from third countries were not issued. Although the precarious situation on the labor market would allow this. “If we don’t get permission or if we can’t find a driver, school buses will be canceled as early as September,” warns Zuklin-Pollany, who accuses the AMS of gross negligence.
