On August 24, Ukraine celebrates its Independence Day. There will also be a very special parade through the center of Kiev. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had burned, destroyed or captured Russian military vehicles on display on one of the city’s main streets. Videos on social media show countless onlookers taking selfies or photos of the vehicles.
Ukrainians present destroyed Russian military equipment in Kiev. So far there has been no response from Moscow to the Ukrainian “military parade”.
A video released by Ukrainian journalist Oleksiy Sorokin shows families using the tanks as a getaway. Sorokin writes about the video: “The Russians finally have their military parade in the center of Kiev. There is only one catch…” Is this provocation by Ukraine well received by Russian President Vladimir Putin?
Putin himself is known for his parades. Only on May 9, on “Victory Day”, the Russian president organized a march with thousands of soldiers, tanks and rockets on Red Square in Moscow. In total, 28 military parades were planned across the country on that day.
