Shots were fired at a shopping center in the southern Swedish city of Malmö on Friday (video above). A 31-year-old man was killed, a woman was injured and the alleged perpetrator was arrested – krone.at reports. As the police announced at a press conference on Saturday, the suspect is only 15 years old.
Everything indicates that it was a targeted attack, quoted the police chief of the Swedish broadcaster SVT Malmö, Petra Stenkula (pictured below). So the injured woman was a passerby who was accidentally hit. Her injuries are serious, but her life is not in danger, it is said.
According to SVT, the police assume that the young person acted alone. However, it is believed that other people may be involved in the crime. The police already announced on Friday that the crime was part of the ‘criminal environment’.
She understands that people are upset by the incident, Stenkula said. Malmö is in a “spiral of violence”. There must be a long-term strategy to prevent young people from being recruited by criminals.
