The price of electricity will 436.25 euros per megawatt hour this Wednesday, reaching a new maximum since the entry into force of the ‘Iberian exception’.

The maximum price is registered between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m.at EUR 236.79/MWh, while the minimum for the day will be EUR 140.07/MWh between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM.

Without the ‘Iberian exception mechanism’ to limit the price of gas for electricity generation, the price of electricity in Spain would be on average 502.11 euros/MWh.

Electricity market prices for this Wednesday in the rest of the European countries are also showing maximum levels. In the case of France, it is more than EUR 645/MWh, while in Germany it is greater than EUR 624/MWh and in Belgium it is greater than EUR 611/MWh.
