Even after her drug test negative, the waves around Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin, who recently came under fire for videos of them partying and dancing with friends, are still not smooth. Now the 36-year-old Social Democratic politician has apologized for a rather revealing party photo.
“The photo is inappropriate and should not have been taken,” Marin said at a press conference with President Sauli Niinistö in Helsinki on Tuesday. In the said shot, taken at the prime minister’s residence, two women can be seen kissing on the mouth and covering their bare breasts with a sign that reads “Finland” (see tweet below).
Marin made headlines last week with videos of a private party where she dances and sings with friends. One of the videos fueled rumors that drugs may have been involved. The prime minister rejected all charges, but underwent a drug test. It was negative on Monday.
President sees no threat to national security
During the press conference, President Niinistö was also asked if he believed national security had been compromised that night. His response: “I don’t think anything special happened that night.”
