Lost control – Raser crashes with an Audi in a Viennese restaurant on a leash

Date:

The Belt is known as a racetrack for speeders at night. Squeaky tires are not uncommon, usually a hair’s breadth – but not anymore on Tuesday shortly before midnight: A driver crashed his Audi in a popular pub on the Döblinger Gurtel.

The landlord immediately ran out of the restaurant after the loud bang. He had feared the worst. “It is fortunate that no one was injured. Normally there are ten to fifteen people smoking in front of the bar,” says local manager Thomas Minutilli. At the time, only two men were sitting on a bench in front of the “Unders” talking.

Guests were able to save themselves in time
For Philipp K. (31) and a friend (28) it was almost their last pint of beer forever. With the presence of mind, the two guests in the small café terrace managed to jump to safety as the car’s headlights came closer and closer. The dark Audi hit an electrical box and stopped in front of the pub.

No injuries
No one was injured. “The police were there right away. Only the front door is broken for me,” the host continued. The professional fire brigade had to remove the accident car. The young driver later said that the construction site in front of the bar was to blame for his loss of control.
