“Live Everyday Like This” – Train Hit by Russian Missiles: Multiple Deaths

At least 15 people have been killed by Russian shelling at a train station in Ukraine on the country’s national holiday, Ukrainian sources say. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported on Wednesday that about 50 people were injured at the Chaplyne train station in the Dnipropetrovsk region. According to the first – not yet verified – photos from the region, a passenger train has been hit.

“Rescue workers are at work. Unfortunately, the death toll may continue to rise,” Zelenskyj reported in a video link to the UN Security Council in New York, adding: “This is how we live every day. This is how Russia prepared for this session of the UN Security Council.”

Elsewhere in the central Dnipropetrovsk region of the country, an 11-year-old child was killed by Russian shelling on Wednesday, local authorities said. In April, a Russian missile hit the station forecourt in the Donbass city of Kramatorsk, killing 57 people.

Ukraine celebrated the 31st anniversary of its independence from the Soviet Union on Wednesday. The day also marked half a year since the beginning of the Russian invasion on February 24.
