Today they are fulfilled six months from the start of the invasion of Ukraine on the part of the Russian army and the professor of political science at the UPV/EHU, Asier Blas, is of the opinion that there is no indication that the war is nearing an end.

On the contrary, he warns that the conflict could continue for another six months and believes that: “There will be no serious negotiations for peace” until it becomes clear in whose hands the Donbas will remain.

“At some point, the war will come to Donbas and we’ll see if Russia takes over the entire region or if Ukraine manages to keep it. From then on, peace can be negotiated seriously, but until then it can be four more, five or six months,” said the political scientist who is an expert in Eastern European affairs.
