The US cancels flights to China over a dispute over sanctions against US airlines. From September 5 to 28, 26 flights operated by China’s Air China, China Eastern Airlines, China Southern Airlines and Xiamen Airlines will be suspended, the Washington government said.
This was the response of the US Department of Transportation to the Chinese government’s decision to ground 26 American Airlines, Delta Air Lines and United Airlines flights due to Covid-19 cases.
The U.S. Department of Transportation said Chinese authorities have changed their policy since Aug. 7 to cancel a flight if the number of passengers who test positive reaches four percent of the total number of passengers on a flight to China, and two flights, when the number is eight percent.
