After the chase, including gunshots and arrests on Friday morning in the Tyrolean lowlands, the first details have now been leaked: the 14-year-old boy allegedly shot by a police officer was allegedly hit in the arm and neck. He’s in a clinic – except in life-threatening condition. However, the two arrested are being interrogated. Explosive: Two other suspects are believed to be on the run.
There were wild scenes that took place in the early morning hours on Friday in the Tyrolean lowlands. Shortly before 5 a.m., a suspicious van was attacked by a police patrol near Wörgl (Kufstein district). But instead of being checked, the driver accelerated – he fled and ended up in St. Johann in Tirol, more than 30 kilometers away in the Kitzbühel district. Also on board: apparently four – and not as initially assumed two – other prisoners.
Gunfire between prisoners and police?
The terminus was then located on the tracks near a level crossing. As the “Krone” learned, there should have been a gunfight. One of the occupants – a 14-year-old – was shot and injured in the arm and neck. So far, only the “firing of a shot by police officers” has been officially confirmed by the executive. And that the injured suspect in the Innsbruck clinic is out of danger.
Two arrests, another duo on the run
Two other suspects – a 19-year-old Austrian and a Russian (13) – were arrested after a short escape. It has since been leaked that two other suspects are on the run.
Van has been stolen
Rail traffic was also affected by the operation. In the morning, no more trains could run for the time being. The investigations of the National Criminal Investigation Department are continuing at full speed. According to unofficial reports, it would be a car theft. The LKA did not want to confirm this yet, it referred to the ongoing investigations.
