The Ukrainian state’s energy company, Energoatom, confirmed on Friday that the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant has been completely reconnected to the country’s electricity grid thanks to the reactivation of its two power plants.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskihas asked the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) to “as soon as possible” with the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant to avoid new risks like the past few days.
“The situation remains very risky and dangerous. Any repetition of yesterday’s events, i.e. any disconnection of the power plant from the grid, any action by Russia that could lead to the shutdown of the reactors, will take the plant one step further. away from disaster,” Zelensky said in his usual late-night speech.
For its part, the state energy company of Ukraine, Energoatomconfirmed this Friday that the factory reconnection Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant to the country’s power grid thanks to the reactivation of the two power plants.
The first will be reconnected to the electricity grid at 2:04 pm on Friday (one hour less in mainland Spain), Energoatom announced in a first statement on its Telegram channel.
This reconnected device is “already produce electricity to meet Ukraine’s needsand the potency boost is underway.”
It was later announced in a second note that the second of the units will be fully operational again, at 9:15 PM (local time) yesterday.
