Adecco report on safety and employment in the CAV in 2021

According to the latest Adecco report, 27,400 highly skilled jobs will have been created by 2021. In terms of accidents at work, this has increased, but slightly below the average for the Spanish state.

The creation of highly skilled employment has been very beneficial in the Basque Country, according to data from Adeco, the world leader in Human Resources management. 27,400 highly qualified jobs were created (+7.7% year on year). A) Yes three out of four jobs in the CAV made in the course of 2021 are highly qualified.

Their share has increased by 1.8 percentage points, the second largest increase in the Autonomous Communities after La Rioja, to 40.6% of total employment in the Spanish state, the highest figure recorded by the statistics for the autonomous communities (and the second-highest proportion in the state).

Adecco Group Institute, the study and dissemination center of the Adecco Group, published this Thursday a new issue of the Monitor, this time focusing on job security and professional development opportunities in the Basque Autonomous Community. The report concludes that while 9,500 medium or low-skilled jobs were created (+1.7% year-on-year), 27,400 high-skilled jobs were also created (+7.7%).

In front of Xavier Blascodirector of the Adecco Group Institute, “this is good news at a time when the recovery of the economy and employment requires a strong commitment to continuous training and requalification of people, both the unemployed and those working in low-wage sectors”.

referring to work accidents, this has increased in the Basque Autonomous Community, but slightly less than the average for the Spanish state. It has done so at an annual rate of 13.6%, reaching 75 accidents per 10,000 employed persons.
